Creating a Frame and Text style Collage
Hello and welcome. I received an email from Gerd T. who asked… "May be you can produce a new video. I found in Pinterest nice collages which are partly similar to your work, but they have some specific items. Please check these images and may be this can be an inspiration for you to show how we can get similar nice images."
I thought the images that Gerd enclosed looked great, a really different way to present our images. This is what I came up with in this start-to-finish video, the video contains many tips and tricks so be sure to watch the whole video.

    Well hello stranger. Good to see you're back. Some time ago you posted a RUclips video doing an edit in Photoshop Elements with the XXL plug-in. Hello @tompatton2086😃 Yes it's been a little while, I think it was what is known as all the curved balls that kept being thrown at me lol I haven't used PSE for several years now. I don’t think this has quite worked. If you follow the line of the yellow and brown thing just above the centre of the image (the canopy), it doesn’t flow properly from first frame to second.

    Hi, really great edit. Does savings all the layers add much to the size of the file rather than flattening the image and which format would you save it in?

    • @davro06
      @davro06 14 дней назад

      Thanks pleased that you enjoyed it. Yes it will add to the file size, but I would worry about it. When I first started imaging one of my images won an award. I would love to recreate the effect and if I'd saved it in layers I would have been able to see how I achieved that effect... lesson learnt! I always save in layers and I don't worry about the size. Thanks very much for clearly explaining your process with RAW development. I use almost the exact same process on my images. I was in a bit of a quandary coming from Adobe Lightroom Classic recently even though I have been with Affinity from the beginning and have the latest update of version2. Lightroom has a wonderful masking set of tools that I thought could not be done by any other software, but since I've had version 2 of A Photo all of this changed for me. I don't need Lightroom anymore because of Photo's updated RAW capability in version 2. Regards to you.

    Thank you so much for this video. It's very clear and easy and the results are amazing. Liquify is a fun tool but I have to be patient because it's very, very slow. One question. why do you use such a complicated zoom tool. In settings you can change it into scrolling in and out with your mouse. So easy.

    • @davro06
      @davro06 3 месяца назад

      Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the video. The Liquify tool is memory hungry and there is a huge amount of calculations going on which is why it can run slow on some systems. As for the scroll wheel, yes you're right and it's the same with my magic mouse but as not everyone uses a scroll wheel or even a mouse so I tend to leave it to the keyboard which hopefully covers all bases. Well explained for edit and macro making --- I wish it was that easy every time . Forgotten PS but I'm sure actions were easier but nothing beats Lightroom (Lr5 lol) for saving a preset . So easy compared AP . Couple of tips for the less experienced . Instead of one big marco I find it easier to make set of smaller/simpler macros and then run those into one big macro . If making a macro from relatively new edit ; it can pay to write a list in the order of adjustments so it all runs smoothly --- so easy to forget just one step 5:43 adjust blur strength -- up/down arrow keys can be used also --- work with all similar adjustment

      From what I can remember Photoshop was roughly the same for recording Actions/Macros but I haven't used LR. Thanks for the tips 😄 Cheers David
